Tom (Sam Riley) arbeitet als Tennistrainer in einem All-Inclusive-Hotel auf Fuerteventura. Während die Touristen in einem nicht endenden Strom kommen und gehen, spielt er Woche für Woche hunderte Bälle übers Netz und füllt die Leere mit flüchtigen Affären und Alkohol. Doch dann taucht die geheimnisvolle Anne (Stacy Martin) im Hotel auf. What at first glance seems like the dream of an endless summer has long since become a monotonous routine for the former pro. While the tourists come and go in a never-ending stream, he plays hundreds of balls over the net week after week and fills the void with fleeting affairs and alcohol.
