He has to get the local team in shape for the World Cup qualifiers, but with plenty of beach, sun and palm trees, this is no easy task: The American Samoa team is infamous for their brutal 31-0 defeat at FIFA 2001. With the next World Cup qualifiers just around the corner, the likeably chaotic team hires Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender), a former successful coach at the absolute nadir of his career. His job is to turn the worst soccer team in the world into winners. In order for the unconventional bunch to become a real team in time, they all have to rise above themselves, because only together can they achieve their big dream of scoring a goal.
