When the sun goes down... a whole new world awakens! In the explosive world of illegal street racing in Los Angeles, the rule is: whoever drives the fastest car gets the most beautiful women and the most respect! For Dominic (Vin Diesel — “Riddick: Chronicles of a Warrior”), only three things in life matter: his highly tuned car, his racing crew, and his sister Mia. During a race, he meets Brian (Paul Walker – “The Skulls”), a newcomer to the scene who challenges champion Dominic with his souped-up Mitsubishi. When the police suddenly show up and Dominic finds himself in a tight spot, it’s Brian, of all people, who helps him out. Dominic welcomes Brian into his crew, and the two gradually become friends. What Dominic doesn’t suspect is that Brian is an undercover cop assigned to solve a series of spectacular truck heists. The loot is always extremely valuable cargo, and the method of the heists is always the same: the trucks are boarded and hijacked while traveling at full speed. These crimes can only be the work of exceptionally skilled drivers. What began as a simple assignment soon becomes more than just police work for Brian: He falls in love with Mia, of all people, and becomes increasingly immersed in the scene. But some gang members suspect he’s not just a rival, but also a cop—especially when internal information about the gang leaks out. In the final showdown, Brian must choose between his sense of duty as a cop and his friendship with Dominic. Whom will he be loyal to?
