Prinzessin Mononoke / Mononoke-hime

Der von einem Dämon tödlich infizierte Kämpfer Ashitaka verliebt sich in die bei Wölfen aufgewachsene Prinzessin Mononoke. Und gerät zwischen die Fronten des Kampfes der Bewohner einer industriellen Ansiedlung unter der Führung der selbstbewussten Eboshi mit den Naturkräften, verkörpert von drei riesigen Wölfen, dem Gott des Wildes und seinen Waldgeistern und einer Horde Affen.

Long, long ago, when gods still ruled Japan, the wild princess Mononoke lived with the wolves in a vast forest. But the peaceful coexistence of humans and animals was under threat: civilization was encroaching further and further into nature. For the first time, iron weapons were being forged, guns whose bullets could pierce even the armor of a samurai. Now the humans want to overthrow the old order once and for all and hunt down the powerful forest god. But the animals do not want to surrender without a fight and gather for one last great battle. The young warrior Ashitaka finds himself caught in the middle of this deadly conflict. He and Mononoke find themselves between the fronts—and only in their hands lies the power to avert the impending catastrophe...
